There is also the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA which is now available and a social security number (SSN) is no longer required. The form can be completed between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025. The may be pauses to the site for maintenance as the form is new and some changes continue to be made as needed. The application can be found at: studentaid.gov. Once completed you should receive an email confirming it was received that will include preliminary information related to your eligibility for federal student aid. This includes an estimated Student Aid Index or SAI and estimated eligibility for Federal Pell Grants.
